So although I have been wanting to post this for awhile my camera and computer were not getting along to well, but now they seem to have finally worked out their differences:)
Awhile back I came across this pillow, I don't remember where I saw it, and haven't been able to find it. But I do know it looked similar to this....
I just love it, and wish I could remember where I first saw it!
So here is the steps I used to make mine...
First of all I sewed my pillow case.{ I just used a drop cloth, I had originally planned on using burlap, but because I used frezzer paper to monogram it, I wasn't sure how bad the paint would bleed. So I went with the safe route this time. But I still think burlap would be super cute!}
After I sewed my pillow case, I turned it inside out and slid a piece of carboard inside, just to make sure nothing bleed through.
I just printed off the M + T off my computer. I used
Kevin and Amanda's Lima Bean font. I did make a change to the "T" I wanted to make it more lower case looking, than it was originally. But I just enlarged the letters really big and then printed them off.
Next I cut the letters out by hand, and traced them on to a piece of
Reynold's Wrap Freezer Paper
I used a crayon to trace them on the dull side of the Freezer paper, and it worked great!
Next I cut out the letters with an exacto knife.
*Make sure you trace and cut them out on the dull side of the paper, so that way when you go to iron it on your pillow the shiny side will stick!*
Next I just simply placed the freezer paper on my pillow, and ironed until the edges of my letters were sealed.
I then painted the letters with a couple coats of fabric paint. I have heard that they make a spray fabric type of paint, and I am sure that would work too.
*Another tip: I made sure that the freezer paper completely coved my pillow incase I had any drips or anything, that way it couldn't get on the pillow*
I left it over night, and it came right off the next morning, stuck my pillow form in it's new case and I had this
So there you have it easy peasy!
